When Government seeks to use its full power, including the criminal law, to command where a person may get his or her information or what distrusted source he or she may not hear, it uses censorship to control thought. This is unlawful. The First Amendment confirms the freedom to think for ourselves.

Now, as events unfold, President Obama has announced his intent to circumvent and ignore this decision and our Constitution. What part of "No Law" does he not understand?

Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) cited that the "good and welfare clause" gives Congress the authority to force individuals to buy health insurance. However, there is no "good and welfare clause" in the U.S. Constitution. You would think the Chairman ot the House Judiciary Committee would know this.

But, typical of Democrats he lies to support his agenda. The Preamble and Article 1, Section 8 refer to "welfare"

Preamble: In Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Article 1, Section 8: The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States.
|

Note the phrase "general welfare" in both cases, This has has been twisted to mean the government will supply your every need, yes, that is "welfare" but "general welfare" is quite a bit different, that refers to the general welfare of the nation as a whole, not to individuals, and it is certainly not an invitation to freeloaders.

First, Obama attacked the members of the Supreme Court directly, knowing they would be unable to respond during his State of the Union address. This does not make him gutsy, it makes him a bully. Second, he totally and purposefully misread their decision in order to rabble-rouse.

Obama said the decision will make it harder to enact key elements of his domestic agenda, financial reforms (bank takeovers), close tax loopholes,(raise taxes), promote energy independence (carbon tax), and protect patients from insurance company abuses (health care takeover).
